Record
breaking box office figures are the norm for John who started his
acting career at the age of 13.
His smash-hit BBC TV series ''Are You Being Served?'' is seen in tea
countries. His award winning character is action to ''Mr. Humphries''
is based on his observations when he was a window dresser for a leading
West End Store. A subject of ''This Is Your Life''. John - won the
coveted Silver Heart Award of the Variety Club of Great Britain as
BBC TV's Light Entertainment Personality of the Year. He was also
voted Top Comedy Personality by TV Times readers.
THE
WEST MIDLANDS POLICE MALE VOICE CHOIR
Under their conductor Harold Enstone the choir is made up of serving
and retired officers from constable to superintendent. They have made
two LPs of their own plus numerous T.V. appearance.
THE WEBB IVORY NEWHALL BAND
The members of the Webb leory Newhall Band are all amateurs. Some
of them travel over 100 miles to attend twice-weekly rehearsals. They
are dedicated musicians with a deep pride in belonging to a band which
is building success upon success. All sorts of occupations are represented
in the band's ranks. There are
urn plumbers. Engineers. Joiners, shop workers. bricklayers. insurance
sales-men. power station workers and; of coarse. - miners. -
The
band takes part in six major competitions every year and broadcasts
regularly on the EEC's National Radio Networks.
At the beginning of 1978 Webb Ivory, a member company of Fine Art
Developments Group. took up the sponsorship of the band. It has proved
a fruitful and delightful experience for all concerned.
